Set Aspect Ratio for Image Generation in Prompt Editor
Michael Boyens
Most images generated are in 16:9 aspect ratio which doesn't work when the image is displayed in portrait on the card. This means that I have to regenerate most images, which now costs extra. Would be great if we can set the default aspect ratio for images via additional instructions field in the prompt editor or via dropdown selection.

My use case is primarily generating traditional aspect ratio PowerPoint Gamma, and I want to be able to display the portrait image in 9:16 on the left or the right of the image. Even being able to describe that, whether I do that in the prompt editor under additional information or that also is a drop-down. What ideally I want is the ability to either have everything on the right or alternate on the right or left, that sort of thing. I tried to put aspect ratio in the additional information and get it to do this, but it doesn't adjust 16:9 aspect ratio images. I don't mind which option you take for your second question. Whether it's a default or whether it's something we set when we get to the prompt editor, that's probably the better place for it. It was less of an issue when it didn't cost me to generate a ChatGPT image, but now it does. It's more important that I have a solution on this. I'm on a pro plan and have been a Gambassador since the beginning.

Michael Boyens thanks for the super clear writeup. Totally get how defaulting to 16:9 gets annoying (and expensive) when you’re placing images in portrait cards. I’ll pass this to the team.
Quick couple questions so we design it right:
1) Which portrait ratios do you most often need (e.g., 4:5, 2:3, 9:16)?
2) Would you want this as a per-project default, per-prompt setting, or just a one-off dropdown each time you generate?
