Unclear/inconsistent credit consumption on the Plus plan for “standard model” generations

I switched to Plus, specifically because the FAQ states that paid plans include presentations and images with standard models, and that credits are only used for Agent, premium/ultra AI models, and API access.
In practice, this was wrong. After making several presentations — with standard text generation (no model selection available) and standard image options (first AI-generated images, later only stock photos/web search) — my credit balance dropped from 1.400 to 225 in a short time, even though I never touched Agent, premium models, or the API.
This creates a real gap between what the pricing page promises and what happens in practice when used. It would help enormously if the creation screen shows a clear indicator (e.g. a small icon or label) next to each option — “included” versus “cost X credits” — so that users can make informed choices before generation, instead of having to reconstruct them afterwards via their balance.
I have since canceled and received a refund, but wanted to report this in case others run into the same confusion. I'll be happy to provide more details if useful.

Hey Frank, thanks for the super detailed writeup here. Totally fair callout, if the FAQ says “standard models included” but your balance still dropped that hard, that’s confusing and feels like a mismatch.
I’ll pass this to the team. Quick question so we can make it actionable: do you remember roughly which generation actions you were doing when you noticed the biggest credit drops (new deck from prompt, rewriting text, generating images, web search/stock insert, etc), and if you have it, a screenshot of your credit usage/history page would help us pinpoint what was actually charging.

Just to clarify: in my original post I made a typo with the numbers. My balance actually dropped from around 1400 credits to about 1170 (not to 225).
I only created four presentations from scratch using standard text generation and standard AI image generation. I did no rewriting, no post-editing, and no Agent usage at all — I know that kind of editing consumes credits separately. I also didn’t use any premium/ultra models or the API.
According to the FAQ, standard models for presentations and images should be included in Plus, so I expected to keep my full starting balance.
Unfortunately, since my Plus subscription has already been canceled and refunded, I’m back on the Free plan and can no longer access my usage history or screenshots.
I wanted to report this anyway because it feels like there’s a clear mismatch between what the pricing/FAQ promises and what actually gets charged in practice.

Nik Payne (Gamma design) Has there been any update on Frank's question? I also am trying to sort out when I'm paying for what takes credits versus what is included without using credits. I know things can change rapidly with AI, and I enjoy the service and want Gamma to keep the servers and lights on, so I don't mind paying.
I would like clarity on how to best budget the features and credits I am paying for, though. Is there a place I can go to achieve clarity on how my credits are being used for various actions?
