Improve spell check within gamma, enable browser native spell check
Giancarlo G
The spell check that overlays mac/chrome doesn't work when you're editing text in an object in gamma. e.g , when the red squiggly is under a word I cannot right click and edit. I can only do this in Gamma when text is in a free form text box. Seems like a quick delighter as I keep having to leave gamma to spell the work in some other product surface and paste back into gamma.

Why does Gamma spell check SUCK?

I love the product but the number 1 thing that makes presentations SUCK is when they have stupid spelling errors in them. I am dyslexic and so rely on spell check to highlight what is wrong when I am writing. It seems that the only way to check spelling in Gamma is manually writing or clicking "check spelling". This SUCKS as 90% I will forget this step before presenting. My Grammarly chrome plugin also won't work. Please add traditional red underline spellchecking to Gamma otherwise my presentations here are going to look worse than what I did in powerpoint.

Hey Luke Abbott, totally hear you. If you’re relying on spellcheck (especially with dyslexia), having to remember a manual “check spelling” step is a rough workflow.
I’ll pass this along to the team. Quick couple questions so we can scope it right:
1) What browser + OS are you on, and does Grammarly fail everywhere in Gamma or only in certain text areas?
2) When you say “traditional red underline,” do you want it live as you type, or would “always-on” checking (no button) be enough?

Hey Giancarlo G, thanks for the super clear writeup. Totally get how annoying it is to have to bounce out of Gamma just to fix a typo.
Quick couple questions so we can pass the right details to the team:
1) Which kind of “object” are you editing when right click spellcheck fails (table, callout, button, caption, etc)?
2) Are you on Chrome on macOS, and does the right click menu show up at all but without spelling suggestions, or does right click do nothing in that object?
We’ll share this with the team either way.
