Improve present mode, speaker notes and present mode controls
Peter Neumann
As a teacher, I present to a projector from my laptop and walk around with a mouse. In order to change slides, you have to use the scroll wheel, and if your card is short, you have to scroll 4 or 5 times before you card changes. Click the mouse has no effect; while clicking the arrow on the keyboard his works, and directing the mouse to the card tabs on the bottom of the presentation works, this is prohibits movement, or I have to stop and move the mouse precisely.
Recommended fixes are to allow the card to advance on a click of the mouse or if you have already scrolled to the end of the card, the next scroll should bring up the next card. Instead the white circle with the blue wheel shows up as a scroll needlessly.

Per-slide speaker notes (like PowerPoint presenter notes)
c
claire Murphy
Currently, Gamma only supports a single shared note for the whole presentation. I'd like the ability to add individual speaker notes to each card/slide, similar to the notes panel in PowerPoint or Google Slides. This would allow presenters to write talking points, cues, or reminders specific to each slide, and ideally view them in a presenter mode while the audience sees the main content. This is essential for anyone using Gamma for live training, workshops, or presentations where they need prompts per slide.
I use Gamma for training workshops and need to know what to say on each slide without memorising the whole session. Per-slide notes would make Gamma a complete replacement for PowerPoint for presenters.

claire Murphy this is super clear, thank you. Per-card speaker notes plus a presenter view where only you see the notes makes a ton of sense for live workshops, and I’ll pass this to the team.
Quick couple questions so we build it the way you’d actually use it:
1) In presenter mode, do you mainly want to see just the current card’s notes, or current + next (and maybe a timer)?
2) Would you want notes to be private by default (never visible to viewers), even when sharing the doc for async reading?

Nik Payne (Gamma design) Hi Nik,
Thank you so much for coming back to me so quickly — and for passing this to the team, that means a lot!
To answer your questions:
1) In presenter mode — Ideally I'd love it to work similarly to Microsoft PowerPoint's presenter view, where you can see:
The current slide (large, as the audience sees it)
The current slide's notes clearly visible beneath or alongside
A preview of the next slide so you can bridge naturally between them
A timer to keep the session on track
That combination is really the gold standard for live training delivery and would make Gamma a genuine PowerPoint replacement for presenters.
2) Private by default — Yes, absolutely. Notes should be private and never visible to viewers, even when the deck is shared for async reading.
One more thing I wanted to flag — the notes editor itself could really benefit from some basic formatting options. At the moment it feels quite limited. It would be incredibly useful to have:
Bold, italic and underline — to emphasise key words or phrases when speaking
Highlighting — to mark sections already delivered or draw attention to key prompts
Proper text formatting tools — right now it feels like you can only copy and paste in, rather than write and format naturally
For a trainer writing detailed speaker notes per slide, being able to format them properly would make a huge difference in a live setting.
Thanks again Nik — really appreciate the responsiveness! 😊

Return to first slide
Oliver Pike
There should be an easier way to restart the presenation and have it automatically start on the first slide. In fact I would argue that exit presenter mode and then reentering presenter mode should automatically go back to the first slide.
Nik Payne (Gamma design)
Totally hear you, Oliver Pike — it’s kinda silly to have to do the little “where am I in this deck?” dance just to restart. Exiting presenter mode and re-entering defaulting back to slide 1 makes a lot of sense.
Quick q so we build it the right way: when you say “restart,” do you want it to
always
jump to the first slide on re-enter, or would you prefer an explicit “Restart from beginning” button/shortcut (so you can also resume where you left off when that’s useful)? If you’ve seen another tool handle this nicely, a quick screenshot/clip would be awesome too.Nik Payne (Gamma design)

Custom Block Reveal Order in Spotlight Mode
Jingjing Zhang
Currently, Spotlight Mode reveals content blocks in a fixed sequence (top to bottom, left to right). For live presentations where I need to tell a story step-by-step, I'd like to control which blocks appear first.
Use Case: During presentations, I want to reveal specific text blocks in a custom order - not necessarily the layout order. For example, reveal a conclusion first, then supporting details, similar to PowerPoint's custom animation sequences.
Current Limitation: I have to arrange my content blocks physically on the card in the exact order I want them revealed, which limits design flexibility.
Requested Solution: Add the ability to set custom reveal sequences for blocks within Spotlight Mode, so presenters can control the storytelling flow independent of the visual layout.
This would make Gamma much more powerful for live storytelling presentations!

Live captions for presenting
Cam Honey
Similar to Microsoft PowerPoint, when presenting can you incorporate the functionality to be able to have live captions generated from a connected bluetooth mic. Similarly with PowerPoint, can you also include the option to have them in other languages and visually customisable?

Great suggestion. This may be something we explore down the road!

Options de diaporama dans le mode Presentation
Zachary Laverdure
Michelle Tran (Design @ Gamma)
Hi Zachary Laverdure! Thanks for the feedback! Our team is currently working on improving our export feature. Could you provide examples of where elements are lost when exporting?
Also could you describe what you mean by slideshow options?
Zachary Laverdure
Michelle Tran (Design @ Gamma) Hi Michelle,
Thanks for the quick reply, the main parts that get lost during exporting are the icons and image display format (See the attach). But like i said i would rather have a diaporama mode included in gamma.app that way no need for export. It would just need some options for auto next slide every few seconds (Diaporama basically)
