More control over picture selection as I am working in the African Context and would like to be able to select a population bias for my pictures.

More Diverse pictures
Ros Bcams
Every time you generate an AI picture I have to tell it to make the picture include diverse faces. Even if it does they are always very light-skinned and mixed race looking. If this is aimed at an international market and definitely the UK & US you need to include more diversity in the pictures and less bias to white men and young white people as your default.

Thanks Ros Bcams. We're relying on 3rd party image models for our images, so we may not be able to change this easily. But you may be able to put the keywords into your theme to prompt for greater diversity.

You are behind on ethnic imagery it's a bad look and you will lose customers
Artisan Creative Solutions LLC
You need to upgrade your ethnic imageries it is showing caucasians for everything it makes me feel like this is a 1945 AI imagery this will definitely deter myself and many others but it should be
Alison (Design @ Gamma)
Hi Artisan Creative Solutions LLC, thanks for the feedback! You may need to add more specific keywords for the diversity and demographics you're targeting. LLMs are subject to the same biases they are trained on and unfortunately, no provider has solved this yet.
We use third-party image generation providers, so it would be helpful if you can share which models you've been using so we can share that feedback with our vendors.

Resolving the problem with the lack of diversity in AI image generation
Dr Paul Collins
I've used the prompt - "Please increase the Ethnic diversity 🧬⚖️ of human representations photorealistically" as the mechanism for rapidly resolving the issue of the tendency for AI to over-represent caucasian ethnicity.

Using local culture-connected images to create presentation graphics.
Grzegorz Kurdziel
I want to share the idea of using graphic patterns and images of people and places connected to local culture. For example, I'm from Poland and created a presentation dedicated to the Polish railway sector; it would be great to use pictures of Polish trains or railway stations or samples from Polish cities as a background. Universal, global images sometimes don't fit the presentation or are boring.

Lack of diversity in images
Lorna Flynn
The images generated are all of white men in their 30s/40s. Would be great to see more diversity in there.
Hilary (CX @ Gamma)
Lorna Flynn thanks for the feedback. AI reflects the biases that are found in our society. This means that the image prompts generated by AI may not always be culturally appropriate or inclusive. However, we do have some recommendations for writing more specific AI prompts: https://help.gamma.app/en/articles/11047189-what-makes-a-good-ai-image-prompt

People Images
J
Jed Stillman
For some reason, the vast majority of AI generated images in presentations include only people with Asian backgrounds. In a deck with 25 images that include 100 people across all images, 80% or more "appear" to be Asian based on facial structure. Presentations should include people of all geagraphic and ethnic backgrounds. The over-index on Asians creates the appearance that the presentations are being poorly outsourced. Please make it more balanced or us default mixes of backgrounds based on location.
