Image editing is hard, consider allowing free image placement

I'd love to just be able to drag an image somewhere on the slide. There is a really steep learning curve going from PPT and G Slides to Gamma, and mimicking some of that functionality would be a huge help

photos free positioning

Dear Gamma Team,
First of all, thank you for building such a powerful and intuitive tool — it’s made a real difference in how I approach presentations.
I’d like to request a feature that I believe would greatly enhance the creative flexibility of the platform:
The ability to freely position and resize images within a slide, similar to how it's done in tools like PowerPoint or Canva.
Currently, the layout-based image placement works well for structured content, but having the option to drag-and-drop images to any location within a slide — and perhaps layer them or overlap with text — would unlock a lot of creative potential for users who want more visual freedom.
I believe this feature would benefit content creators, educators, and business users alike.
Thanks again for your continuous improvements and support!
Best regards,
Nawaf

Editing and moving elements around is too rigid
Aaron Munoz
If I want to fine tune something, there should be options to edit every aspect of the slide. Examples: shrink the text in one text box to make it fit the page better without changing the heading level, or place an image or text on top of something else. The lack of control makes me miss PowerPoint.

Selecting zoom in percentage of uploaded background images
Reflectively Eclectic
It'd be much more efficient to have the option of selecting the scale of background images. At the moment, the resize occurs automatically, and Gamma decides to scale arbitrarily. Selecting the zoom in percentage feature can easily be added -> to manually select the zoom in percentage of an uploaded background image. Please consider that. Thanks

Editing possibilities

Iris Heddes
It would be nice to have some basic layout options, ie, align top center, change size of elements manually, and example add border around rounded or square image.

hi Iris Heddes, if you're using 16:9 cards you can change the alignment per card using the alignment setting in the card styling menu.
Borders on images isn't currently possible, but we could consider adding that in theme

Flexible image Placement

I woudl like to be able to move images around like you can in Power Point - this will allows items like logo slides, customer testimonials and stacked images to support speaking points.

Edição muito rígida

Quando tentamos mover uma imagem ou texto na edição de slides eles se autocolocam em lugares pré-existentes, deveria ser edição flexível que nem o canva

fix image fitting and image sizes in slides

The images used in slide are not of the appropriate size that could fit in the slides, hiding their content and some slides are also small in size.
The image below is a slide of a presentation made by gamma, the picture in the right is used by gamma but that picture is not that small as it is in the slide. The picture could not fit completely in the slide frame, hence hiding its important content.

Possibilità di sovrapporre elementi
Cristian Moletto
