I’m genuinely disappointed with Gamma 5.
I have spent a significant amount of time dealing with Gamma’s AI repeatedly failing to follow relatively straightforward instructions. On numerous occasions, I have had to repeat the same request over and over, only to end up with essentially the same result. This has cost me a considerable amount of time and has become extremely frustrating.
Now, with Gamma 5, I’m experiencing another serious issue: my existing presentation themes are not being properly preserved. Gamma appears to use my theme, but then introduces design changes that I did not request. If I created and refined a theme myself, I expect Gamma to respect and preserve it—not reinterpret it.
I am a paying customer, and at this price level, I expect a much more reliable and consistent experience.
I understand that Gamma 5 is still evolving. If this is still a development and testing phase, then I strongly encourage the team to take this kind of user feedback seriously and improve the way existing themes are handled.
To be completely honest, I have started questioning whether continuing to pay for Gamma makes sense when there are other AI presentation tools that may offer a more reliable experience.
I genuinely want Gamma to improve, but at the moment, Gamma 5 is making it increasingly difficult for me to justify staying with the platform.

The new editing workflow is horrible. Why did you change this lol? It was perfect. Now I'm having to re-learn everything. It's unintuitive and clunky. Stop trying to become PowerPoint. Gamma was easy to use and fast. Now it's clunky and sh*t.

I will be migrating off as soon as I can unless it goes back. Don't alienate your power users.

FWIW I have been trying 5 as well and noticed that it seems to focus on Presentations and docs, not websites? After a couple attempts I switched back to classic mode. So something isn’t really hitting there. The process seems more convoluted with less clear results.

Hey Ferit Uygun, really appreciate you taking the time to write this up. Totally hear you, if you’ve invested in a theme you refined yourself, Gamma shouldn’t be “helpfully” changing it, and having to repeat the same AI instruction over and over is just exhausting. I’ll pass this along to the team.
Quick couple questions so we can make this actionable:
1) When the theme isn’t preserved, what specifically changes (fonts, colors, spacing, layouts, something else)?
2) Does it happen when you ask AI to edit content, when you generate new cards, or even when you’re just opening an existing deck?
If you’re up for it, a screenshot showing before vs after would help a ton, but no worries if not.

Hi Nik,
Thank you for taking this seriously and for reaching out personally. I really appreciate it.
Let me give you a concrete example from a presentation I recently created using Gamma 5.
I had previously created and refined my own theme. One of the visual characteristics of this theme was a fade effect on images. When I created a presentation using Gamma 5, I noticed that this fade effect was no longer being applied.
I specifically asked the Agent to restore the fade effect. The Agent responded that it had fixed it, but nothing actually changed in the presentation.
There were also changes that I did not request:
I normally do not use slide/card numbers in my presentations, but Gamma 5 added slide numbers to the output.
I did not ask Gamma to add my brand logo to the slides, yet it automatically placed my logo in the bottom-left corner of the cards/slides.
More broadly, even though Gamma appears to recognize my existing theme, it seems to reinterpret some of its design rules rather than actually preserving them.
So my concern is not simply about fonts, colors or spacing. It is about whether an existing theme is actually being treated as a set of design rules that should be preserved.
If I have intentionally designed a theme and then tell Gamma to use that existing theme, I expect the elements I have already established — including image treatments, layout behavior and what should not appear — to remain consistent unless I explicitly ask for a change.
The fact that the Agent can tell me that it has made a change when the presentation has not actually changed is particularly frustrating, because it makes the process much more time-consuming.
I understand that Gamma 5 is still evolving, and that is exactly why I wanted to report this. I hope the team can take these examples into consideration while improving the new version.
Thank you again for listening and for passing this feedback along to the team.
Best,
Ferit
