I use Gamma to create educational and professional training materials. Until last year, it was a tool that allowed me to work with real creative freedom: I could insert my own full-page images, build personalized collages, manage proportions and visual composition with autonomy.
This year you changed the rules. The automatically generated images have deteriorated in aesthetic quality, but this is the minor issue. The real problem is that you have taken away creative control over the visual layout from users, imposing automated logics that do not take into account taste, proportions, aesthetic sense. These are human qualities - and you can't delegate them to an algorithm.
Slides aren't just standardized business documents. They are visual communication tools, and visual communication requires freedom of choice. Forcing myself to use pre-packaged layouts that I can't modify in detail means forcing myself to produce ugly materials.
The concrete result is that this year I can no longer work the way I used to work. I can't insert my full-page images anymore. I can't build collages anymore. I can't decide the proportions anymore. I'm forced to download everything in PowerPoint and do the work again manually - with a huge waste of time, which completely negates the benefit of using a tool like yours.
I ask you to restore these functionalities. Don't ask me to choose between efficiency and aesthetic quality: a good tool should never force me to make this compromise.
