From Community: Seeking help to embed Gamma slide in Google Doc
Randhir Vieira
Hi folks, I am creating a facilitator guide with my speaking notes in a google doc. I want to e able to embed a thumnail of the gamma slide in the google doc. I don't want to copy/paste the image because I'm still tinkering with the Gamma. any ideas on how to pull this off? I have tried using the direct urls (after making the gamma public), used the embed url etc but haven't had any luck. Any suggestions?

Hey Randhir Vieira, appreciate the detailed writeup. I’ll pass this along to the team. Quick couple questions so we understand the exact workflow you’re aiming for: are you trying to embed an interactive live preview in Google Docs, or just a thumbnail image that stays linked and auto-updates when the Gamma changes? Also, when you tried the public URL/embed URL in Docs, what exactly happened (nothing shows up, broken preview, error message), and which browser were you using?

Nik Payne (Gamma design) here is an example from Shishir of Coda/Grammarly using Coda and GSlides to do what I had in mind: https://coda.io/@shishir/lenny2024/script-2
there is the speaker's notes in one column and the "live" thumbnail of the related slide from Google slides. in this context, "live" means if I change the content of that slide, it will be updated here.
specifically answering your question, I am trying to embed just a thumbnail that auto updates when that gamma slide changes.
using chrome browser, when I try using Google Docs "insert image" and enter various gamma urls, it says it can't find an image. If I paste the gamma url directly into the GDoc, it just shows as a link without any preview
