Importing templates or brand guidelines

I appreciate the platform’s branding features and understand that importing brand guidelines as a PowerPoint or Google Slides file is currently offered as a template-based option. However, it would be extremely helpful to allow users to upload branding guidelines directly as a PDF. Many organizations maintain their brand standards in PDF format, and requiring conversion adds unnecessary friction. As an AI-driven platform designed to streamline workflows, the ability to ingest a brand guidelines PDF and apply those standards across multiple presentation formats would significantly improve usability, efficiency, and consistency. This enhancement would make it easier to maintain brand integrity while leveraging the full range of presentation and content creation capabilities.

Would be a game changer if I could upload a presentation (PDF/PPTX or import from Slides/Canva) and preserve it exactly.
Really helpful when I want to remix from it and the goal is to match my org’s current deck format.

Totally hear you, Anjali Surana — being able to upload a PDF/PPTX (or pull from Slides/Canva) and have it preserve
exactly
is a huge unlock for staying on-brand while remixing.Quick couple Qs so we can scope this right:
- When you say “preserve exactly,” what’s the must-not-break list for you (fonts, spacing, master layouts, animations, charts, etc.)?
- What’s your ideal workflow: import once as a locked “source of truth” and then remix, or import → convert into editable Gamma blocks right away?
If you’re up for it, a screenshot or short Loom of a deck that’s representative (and what usually gets messed up today) would be super helpful too.

Hi Nik,
Thank you — I really appreciate you digging into this. And yes, avoiding the “convert to Slides” step would allow guidelines to remain in their original form. Unless a graphic designer is handling the conversion, I lose a lot of fidelity when trying to recreate them in tools like Canva or Convertio.
Ideally, when uploading a brand guidelines PDF, Gamma would be able to extract and apply:
• Color palette (primary, secondary, neutrals, background usage)
• Typography (font families, hierarchy, sizing relationships)
• Logo usage (primary marks, clear space guidance, placement preferences)
• Layout principles (grid, spacing, margins, visual balance)
• Slide styling cues (title treatments, section breaks, image framing, overlays)
• Tone & voice guidance (if present, to influence AI-generated copy)
Most brand guideline PDFs include a mix of text rules and visual examples — I’ve attached mine for reference. I’d love for it to translate directly into the presentations I create in Gamma.
We’re a nonprofit that lost a substantial amount of funding last year, and I’m wearing many hats right now. It’s simply too costly to outsource this work at the moment, so tools that preserve brand integrity while saving time are incredibly valuable.
In practice, I’d want Gamma to:
• apply colors and typography automatically
• maintain consistent spacing and visual hierarchy
• suggest layouts aligned with the brand’s visual rhythm
• preserve brand tone when generating content
• allow the “Try a new look” edit agent to generate options based on the imported guidelines
Thanks again for exploring this. It would make a meaningful difference.

Totally hear you, Michelda G. Castro — and thanks for the thoughtful write-up. A lot of teams
do
keep brand standards as a PDF, and “please convert it to Slides first” is… not the vibe for a workflow tool.Quick couple questions so we can pass the right details to the team:
- When you upload a brand guidelines PDF, what should Gamma actually extract/apply(colors + fonts, logo lockups, spacing rules, slide templates, tone/voice, etc.)?
- Do your PDFs tend to be mostly text rules, or do they include lots of example layouts you’d want us to mirror? If you’re up for it, a screenshot or a quick Loom of a representative page (and what you’d want Gamma to do with it) would be super helpful.
