Feedback on slide design - missed the mark for me
Daniel Schwartz
Dear Gamma Team,
First off, I want to say I really appreciate what Gamma is doing. The way you convert content into concise, on-point bullet summaries for a powerpoint deck is spot on, and I’m encouraged by how you’re approaching automation.
That said, as a founder myself, I always valued direct and honest feedback. The visuals right now, in my opinion, are not quite there. The AI-generated images feel a bit generic and lack the impact and variety that could really elevate presentations. I’d love to see more integration of striking stock photography and design variation. More customizable or dynamic themes could go a long way.
A suggestion I’d offer is to run side-by-side tests: take some content and have an expert deck designer create a presentation. Then compare it with the AI output and get test audiences to rate both. It would be an objective way to pinpoint where improvements can be made.
I’m offering this feedback because I truly believe in the product’s potential. I’m looking forward to seeing where you take it from here!
Best regards,
Daniel Schwartz

Hi Daniel Schwartz, this is great, thank you for taking the time to write this out!
Improving the quality and consistency of the layouts and images is a top priority for us, so we're definitely on the same page here. We have some work in progress that should result in major improvements — let me know if you're interested in testing these once we're ready!
In the meantime, it would be super helpful to get a sense for:
- What types of decks you're making
- Examples of any presentations (made in any platform) that you'd expect Gamma to be able to generate

Alison (Design @ Gamma) I'm doing mostly medical presentations. I'll upload some sample professionally generated decks. Actually I can't as too large.

Those are more data driven.
But I've also seen decks with striking visuals, minimalist text, visually stunning images (views/scenary/art)
Amazing decks are kind of "know it when you see it".

Daniel Schwartz: Thanks for sharing, these are helpful!
I'm linking a few tester decks that my colleagues and I have made to test different styles and layouts. Silly/placeholder content aside, is this a little closer to what you're looking for in terms of layout and visuals?

Alison (Design @ Gamma)Yes, I think those are closer to what I imagine. I still think there is a role for more striking visuals (not to be overused, but can be quite powerful).

Daniel Schwartz Great, we appreciate all the feedback today — sharing this with my colleagues. Like I said earlier, we've been thinking a lot about improving this and we'd love to get your thoughts when we have something ready to play with!
