For instance, imagine a card that features our team - with each team member's photo + name displayed. And when you click on the photo, it opens up a nested card with longer bio on them.

Nik Payne (Gamma design) Exactly! Also, if nested cards could be arrayed side by side, e.g. 3 per row like some other blocks, this could be cool as well. Although I'm not sure when you expand the card, what the transition motion would look like...
